We want you to know exactly how The Gadget Verse makes money, and
exactly what that does — and does not — change about what you read here.
THE SHORT VERSION
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy
something, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price either way.
Which products we recommend, and where they rank, is decided before any
link is added, and is never influenced by commission rates.
OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH AMAZON
The Gadget Verse is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates
Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means
for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to
Amazon.com.
We are an independent publisher. We are not employed by, partnered with,
sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon. Amazon does not review, approve, or
have any input into our articles, our rankings, or our opinions.
Participation in the Associates Program does not give Amazon any
editorial influence over this site, and nothing here should be read as
a statement made by or on behalf of Amazon.
HOW TO IDENTIFY AN AFFILIATE LINK
Every article that contains affiliate links opens with a clear disclosure notice at the top of the page before the first heading.
Links that are not labelled — to manufacturer documentation,
independent test labs, standards bodies, or community discussions —
earn us nothing. We link to them because they support a claim we have
made, and we want you to be able to check it.
WHAT A COMMISSION COSTS YOU
Nothing. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer out of their
own margin. The price on the product page is the price you pay,
whether you arrive through our link or type the address in yourself.
We do not receive access to your name, address, payment details, or
what else was in your basket. We only see anonymous, aggregated counts
of clicks and completed orders.
HOW PRODUCTS ARE SELECTED AND RANKED
Selection and ranking happen first. Affiliate links are added last,
after the article is written and the order is fixed. This sequence is
deliberate — it means commission rates cannot influence an outcome that
has already been decided.
Our full process is set out on our Methodology page, but in summary:
- We shortlist products against the specific use case the article
addresses, not against what pays best. - Every technical claim is checked against at least three independent
sources before publication. - Where sources disagree, we say so in the article rather than quietly
choosing the more convenient figure. - Products with no affiliate link available are included on equal terms
whenever they are the right answer. If the best option cannot be
bought through a link that earns us anything, we still name it as the
best option.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We think being specific about our limits is more useful than a general
promise to be trustworthy.
We do not accept payment, free samples, or any other consideration from
manufacturers or retailers in exchange for coverage, placement, ranking,
or a favourable conclusion.
We do not run sponsored posts or paid guest posts, and we do not sell
links.
We are a research-led publication, not a hands-on testing lab. We do not
claim to have physically tested every product we cover, and we will
never write as though we have. Where a measurement appears on this site,
it comes from a named source — a manufacturer datasheet or an
independent testing organisation — and that source is identified.
We do not reproduce Amazon customer ratings or review counts.
We do not sell your personal information. See our Privacy Policy for how
data is handled.
PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
You will not find prices published on this site. There is a practical
reason and a rules-based one.
Practically, prices on Amazon change often, sometimes several times a
day. A price printed in an article is wrong within days and misleading
within weeks.
Under the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement, prices and availability
may only be displayed when the data is served live by Amazon. Rather
than display stale figures, we describe where a product sits — budget,
mid-range, premium — and send you to the live listing for the current
price.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date and time
shown on the retailer’s own page and are subject to change. Whatever
price and availability information is displayed on Amazon at the time
of purchase will apply to that purchase.
OTHER AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
Amazon is currently our main affiliate partner. We may join other
programs in future — for example, direct programs run by peripheral
manufacturers. If we do, the same rules apply without exception: links
are labelled, selection comes before monetisation, and this page is
updated to name the program.
TRADEMARKS
Product names, brand names, logos, and trademarks that appear on this
site are the property of their respective owners. They are used for
identification and reference only. Their use does not indicate any
affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from those owners.
Amazon, the Amazon logo, and related marks are trademarks of Amazon.com,
Inc. or its affiliates.
IF WE GET SOMETHING WRONG
Errors happen, particularly with specifications that manufacturers
change without announcement. If you find one, tell us at
contact@thegadgetverse.com. We correct errors on the page itself
and note the date of the correction rather than editing silently.
If you think a recommendation on this site is wrong, we would rather
hear it than not. Reader corrections have changed articles here before.
CHANGES TO THIS DISCLOSURE
If our monetisation changes in a way that affects you, we will update
this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be
noted on the site.
QUESTIONS
Email contact@thegadgetverse.com. If you want to know whether a specific
link earns us money, ask — we will tell you.
